Obituary

ALAN KAY STRANGE

Alan entered this world two months early at a strapping weight of 5.2 pounds on April 1st, 1960.  He died too soon on the 15th of July, 2023.  Alan was the center of his mother's heart and her best friend.  They were happiest when they were planning and doing projects together.  No mother has ever had a more devoted or loving son.  He was a fine man in every sense of the word.

He leaves behind a blended family of mother and dad, Jan and Larry Brown; sisters Kelli, Kristi and Kimber; brothers-in-law, Darryl and Dan; nieces Sydney and Peyton; nephews Marcello and Hayden – wife Deshea and baby Amaya.  Alan was the quiet one in this often rowdy bunch but was always happy when the family was together, especially around the table.  Alan never gained weight but that boy loved to eat!

Alan is predeceased by his father, Bobby – sister, Karen – grandparents, Jo and Don Allen and his beloved dog, Sheba.

Alan's love of Table Rock and Shell Knob goes back to his teen- age years, camping and boating.  He was a great skier, strong swimmer and loved being wet! He bought a weekend place and traveled here every two weeks for many years.  He later bought a permanent home and settled into a neighborhood where he enjoyed extremely good friends that he cared for deeply.  His family is so grateful for the help and support he received from friends, especially during the last few difficult years.

Alan had a 30-year career with the American Red Cross and Regional Blood Center in Wichita, KS. He retired as Fleet Services Supervisor where he was responsible for over 75 vehicles of all types. He was formally recognized for his excellent work several times.

He was a master mechanic, worked on cars, boats – anything with a motor. He was happiest in the garage; he loved to tinker!

Alan loved nature.  He loved birds and insisted that a hummingbird named Rocky visited him for many years.  He was a skilled, respectful hunter and also bow fished.

Alan will be celebrated on Friday, August 4th.  Friends are invited to an ICE CREAM SOCIAL to be held at WHITE FUNERAL HOME in Cassville, MO. from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Please join us for fellowship and remembrances of Alan.
