Obituary

Ardith Lugean Burns, 88, of Washburn, Missouri, went home to be with the Lord on August 27, 2025. She was born on June 14, 1937, in Compton, California, to Edna Hartford and was lovingly raised by her stepfather, Lloyd Durant.

On September 21, 1956, Ardith married the love of her life, Rev. Bobby Joe Burns, in Long Beach, California. Together they shared a lifetime of love, faith, and ministry until his passing on July 16, 2022. Their devotion to one another and their shared service to the Lord touched countless lives.

Ardith's heart was as full as her hands were busy. She found joy in sewing and needlework, and nothing meant more to her than raising her beloved grandchildren and spending time with her cherished friends. Alongside her husband, she poured her energy into ministry, always offering kindness, encouragement, and a listening ear to those around her.

She will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her gentle spirit, and the love she so freely gave to family, friends, and community.

Survivors include, three daughters, Bobbi Mabry of Cassville, Susan Edwards and her husband Tom of Cassville, and Christina Caldwell and her husband Robert of Springfield; one son, James Burns of Washburn; nine grandchildren, Melissa Eggers, Michael Hoover, Christi Wilson, Chris Caldwell, Steve Caldwell, David Caldwell, Katie Caldwell, Tabitha Burns, and Bianca Burns; 11 great grandchildren, Sidney Eggers, Brianna Hoover, Zackery Hoover, Steven Barnes, Deecan Barnes, Angel Wilson, Jaden Robertson, Drayton Chester, Kaylee Meyer, Ava Mena and Noah Menaburns; and four great-great grandchildren, Ardith Barnes, Atreus Barnes, Marceline Westbrook, and Everly Eggers.
