Arlus 'Wayne' Walden, age 95, of Seligman, Missouri passed away on Monday, February
06, 2023 at his home in Seligman.
Mr. Walden, son of Joe and Vinnie (Roberts) Walden, was born on February 25, 1927 in Butler
Hollow, Barry County, Missouri. He was united in marriage to Charlotte Joan Skiles in Olympia,
Washington in 1953. Wayne entered the U.S. Army in 1945 and was a veteran of World War II,
Korea, and Vietnam. He received an honorable discharge in May, 1968. SFC Walden was
awarded numerous medals during his twenty-one years of service.
Survivors include his daughter Debra Jean (Walden) Davis, of Battlefield, Missouri; one son,
Darrell Wayne Walden, and his wife, Tammy, of Camdenton, Missouri; daughter Julie JoAnn
(Walden) Scott, of Battlefield, Missouri; four grandchildren, Dillon Walden, Codi (Walden)
Shepherd, Lindsay Scott, and Kyle Davis; nine great grandchildren and numerous nieces and
nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte (Skiles)
Walden of Seligman, Missouri, nine siblings: Donald Walden of Ashland, Oregon; Carmen Peck,
of Las Vegas, Nevada; Marieta 'Rita' Murray of Talent, Oregon; Emmett Walden, of Talent,
Oregon; Cleva Lane, of Seligman, Missouri; Joe Andy Walden, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma;
Rosa Margerite 'Marge' Mathis, of Woodland, California; Norman 'Nig' Walden, of Killeen,
Texas; Texanna Talburt, of Roseburg, Oregon, and one great grandson, Lucas Wayne Walden of
Richland, Missouri.
Wayne was an avid hunter and fisherman and knew the best places to find morel mushrooms in
southwest Missouri. He enjoyed viewing wildlife in weekly rides with his family. He often spoke
with pride of his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at the White Funeral
Home in Cassville, Missouri. Military graveside services will follow at Walden Cemetery in
Carroll County near Busch, Arkansas on Highway 62. The family will receive friends on
Saturday, February 25th, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the White Funeral Home in Cassville,
Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to Pet Partners Therapy Dogs or to the Seligman
Chamber of Commerce and may be entrusted to the White Funeral Home. Online condolences to
