Barbara Ann Deditius of Purdy, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, February 13, 2022 at Cox South Hospital in Springfield, Missouri after a brief illness. She was 80 years old. Barbara was born on April 24, 1941 in Ila, Georgia to John Hobert and Blanche (Bradley) Eller. On December 18, 1979, she married Gary G. Deditius in Georgia, and in 1989 they moved to Missouri. Barbara was a loving and cherished mother and grandmother with a huge heart who always put her family first. She had an incredible sense of adventure and was always ready to travel, cook with her grandchildren, or assemble her latest puzzle amid enthusiastic conversation.
She is survived by her three sons: David Hill and his wife Doris, of Miami, Florida; Douglas Hill and his wife Mindy, of Albuquerque, New Mexico; and Patrick Deditius, of Purdy; seven grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Gail Meili, of St. Louis, Missouri. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Gary, and sister, Yvonne Minish.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 20, 2022 , at the White Funeral Home and Crematory, Cassville.
Burial will be held 10:15 a.m. on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 , at the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association and entrusted to the White Funeral Home and Crematory, P.O. Box 890, Cassville, MO 65625 .
Service arrangements are under the direction of the White Funeral Home and Crematory, Cassville, Missouri.
