Obituary

Benjamin Lee Miller, age 50, of Aurora, Missouri, passed away at his home on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, Mr. Miller was born on February 8, 1974, in Raton, New Mexico. Benjamin Lee Miller enlisted in the United States Air Force on the 25th of November 1992 and had a distinguished career spanning over twenty-six years. During his career, he maintained an impressive array of aircraft including the last active squadron of F-4 "Wild Weasels", the very first squadron of MQ-9 "Predator" unmanned aircraft, U-2 reconnaissance aircraft, C-130 cargo aircraft, HH-60 rescue helicopters, C-17 cargo aircraft, and KC-135 ariel refueling aircraft.

He served in locations all over the world including NellisAir Force Base and Indian Spring in the state of Nevada, Osan Air Force Base in South Korea, Little Rock AFB in the state of Arkansas, Keflavik Air Force Base in Iceland, Mildenhall Air Force Base in England, Hickam Air Force Base in Hawaii, and Yakota Air Force Base in Japan. He served in combat in Bosnia, Afghanistan, Iraq, and the United Arab Emirates.

His awards include the Air Force Good Conduct Medal with 7 Oak Leaf Clusters, National Defense Service Medal with 1 Service Star, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal with 1 Service Star, Iraq Campaign Medal with 2 Service Stars, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal with 1 Service Star, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Service Medal, and the Nuclear Deterrence Operations Service Medal with 4 Oak Leaf Clusters.

​Benjamin retired from the United States Air Force on the 30th of November 2018.

Survivors include his parents, father Gary and his wife Michal Miller and mother Cassandra Brooks; four brothers, Steven Brooks from Vail, Arizona, Jonathan Brooks from Runnemede, New Jersey, Roy Miller from Kansas City, Missouri, and Christopher Brooks from Lillington, North Carolina; three sisters, Crystal Davis from Neosho, Missouri, Trina Harned from Neosho, Missouri, and Bonnie Keeny from Niotaze, Kansas.

A visitation will be held Thursday, May 2, 2024, from 6 to 7 p.m. at White Funeral Home and Crematory in Cassville, Missouri.

Arrangements are under the direction of White Funeral Home and Crematory.
