Bernice Yvonne Knapp, age 83, of Pierce City, Missouri, passed away at home on Tuesday, July 5, 2022. Daughter of Bill and Erpal (Hyslope) Headrick, Bernice was born on May 18, 1939, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. On September 26, 1990, in Blowing Springs, Arkansas, Bernice was united in marriage to Ronald Knapp; he survives.

Bernice was very proud of her Native America heritage, being a direct descendent of the first female Cherokee Indian by blood right. Bernice was no stranger to hard work, raising dairy goats in her spare time. Bernice also enjoyed collecting antique chickens. She was a dear woman who will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her husband, Ronald Knapp, Bernice is survived by three daughters, Charon and Caren of Wichita, Kansas, and Claudia, of California; as well as, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Bernice was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Erpal (Hyslope) Headrick.
