Betty Marchalene Smith, age 92, of Monett, Missouri, passed away on Monday, June 25, 2018, at Lacoba Homes in Monett. Mrs. Smith, daughter of Harry and Nettie (Stout) Clements, was born on April 2, 1926, in Friend, Nebraska. She was united in marriage to Sidney Smith; he preceded her in death in 1983. Mrs. Smith was very strong in her faith and was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Monett. She enjoyed needlework, gardening, and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include her daughter, Gloria Chapman and her husband Edward, of Pierce City; her granddaughter, Laura Heeter, of Pierce City, her two great-grandsons, Michael Heeter and Jacob Heeter, also of Pierce City; her sister, Margaret Wgeishofski, of Ironton, Minnesota; her brother, Bob Clements, of Whitmore, California; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters and four brothers.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 30, 2018, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the White Funeral Home and Crematory, Cassville.
