Doug "Booger" Reed, age 56, of Fairview, Missouri, passed away on August 31,
2023.Booger, son of Gary "Cotton" and Connie Hilburn Reed, was born on September
15, 1966, in Monett, Missouri. Booger enjoyed ranching, horses, and rodeos; he
loved to do leather work, and collected spurs and bits. Until the 4-k Ranch
disbursed, Booger and his son Cotton had taken it over and made it a successful
operation. Booger was currently working at the Shockley Cattle Ranch in Stark
City.
After being together for 10 years, Booger married Annette "Gracy" Robertson on June 12, 2022, in Fairview; she survives.
Additional survivors include his son, Cotton Reed of Exeter; special niece Nellie Jo of Cassville; sons, Tyler Brown and his wife Nicole of Lubbock, Texas,
Chase Brown and his wife Halee of Argyle, Texas, Wyatt Gray and his significant
other Skyler Bunce of Fairview, and Korbin Marshall and his fiancé Mavia of
Pittsburg, Kansas; one brother Jeff Reed and his wife Liz, of Cassville; three sisters,
Brandy Hobson and her husband Michael of Joplin, Casey Himmelsbach and her
husband Reece, of Vineyard, Utah, and Jana Babst and her husband Robert, of Navarre, Florida; two grandsons, Weston and Walker Brown; several aunts,
uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins; and hundreds of friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lloyd
and Evelyn Reed, Clifford and Kathleen Hilburn, and David and Jeane Lemon, Uncle Billy Leon Hilburn
, cousin Mason Lowe, and many close friends over the years.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 on Friday, September 8, 2023, at the Family
Life Center in Cassville, with Joe Brattin and Alan Jones officiating. Burial will
follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Cassville. The family will receive friends from 5:00
p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 7th at the White Funeral Home &
Crematory in Cassville.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital and entrusted to the
funeral home.
Arrangements are under the direction of the White Funeral Home & Crematory,
Cassville, Missouri.
