Obituary

Carl Dean Hilton, age 87, of Republic, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2022, at the Republic Nursing & Rehab Center in Republic, Missouri. Son of Levi and Carrie Ann (Stockton) Hilton, Carl was born on July 17, 1934, in Jenkins, Missouri.

Carl attended Cassville High School, graduating in 1958, while also serving his country proudly in the United States Army. Carl was united in marriage to Faedola Cooper on July 22, 1955, in Cassville. To support his young family, Carl obtained employment with the Ford Motor Company plant in Kansas City, Missouri, and later with Highland Dairy in Springfield. Mr. Hilton would eventually go on to retire from a very successful career as a machinist for Burlington Northern Railroad, where he was also a strong advocate for local unions.

Carl enjoyed fishing in his free time and listening to country music, but his family was always his greatest joy. Mr. Hilton was a member of First Baptist Church in Republic, Missouri.

In addition to his wife, Faedola Hilton, Mr. Hilton is survived by one daughter, Janet Ann Hopper and her husband Brian, of Canon City, Colorado; four grandchildren, Brandie Riffel, Jackie Lange, Jacob Hopper and Rachel Sivapatham; and seven great grandchildren, Emerie Riffel, Gavin Lange, Kasen Riffel, Brecken Riffel, Adrian Sivapatham, Helen Hopper and Dharshan Sivapatham.

Mr. Hilton was preceded in death by his parents, Levi and Carrie Hilton; one son, Jerry Dean Hilton, Sr.; one grandson, Jerry Dean Hilton, Jr.; and two brothers, Virgil and Don Hilton.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 12, 2022, at Horner Cemetery in Cassville, Missouri, with Reverend Michael Barkhoff officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at White Funeral Home & Crematory, Cassville, Missouri.

Memorial contributions may be made to The ALS Association in memory of Mr. Hilton, and entrusted to White Funeral Home, P.O. Box 890, Cassville, MO 65625.
