Obituary

Charles Louis Long, Jr. (Charlie), of Eagle Rock, Missouri, went home to be with the Lord on January 28, 2021. He has his heavenly body, is healthy now and can breathe again. Charlie was born Christmas Day in 1941 to Charles Louis Long, Sr. and Dorothy Alice (Saunders) Long.

Charlie graduated from Turner High School in 1960. He then served in the United States Navy as an Air Traffic Controller. After his service in the Navy, Charlie served with the Kansas City Kansas Police Department. He later served with the Bonner Springs Police Department and the Barry County Missouri Sheriff's Office. Charlie retired as the Chief of Police for the Green Forest Arkansas Police Department. Charlie was a legend in law enforcement.

Charlie is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary. He is also survived by daughter Diane (Brian) Brown, daughter Suzanne (Dennis) Vaughn, son Jeff (Tracey) Long and son Chris (Angie) Long. Charlie was loved by his grandchildren Michael, Michelle, Forest Keith, Skyler, Paul, Max, Chase, Brendon, Blake, Connor, Evan, Mariah, Christian, Jordan and Remington, and many great-grandchildren.

Charlie is also survived by two "bonus" sons, Rusty James and Jeff Coy who he raised as his own.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to Integrity Hospice in Monett, and entrusted to the White Funeral Home and Crematory, P.O. Box 890, Cassville, MO 65625.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of the White Funeral Home and Crematory, Cassville, Missouri.
