Collin M. Babcock, age 74, of Kimberling City, Missouri, lost a valiant, year-long battle with cancer on Sunday, July 18, 2021.
Collin was born in Denver, Colorado on January 19,1947 to Jacqueline and Clarence Merton Babcock. He grew up in Lansing, Michigan. After enlisting in the US Navy and serving in the Vietnam War, he went on to have multiple careers in accounting and computer programming. He eventually held a Master's Degree in Social Work and worked as a clinical psychotherapist. He married Kathleen in 1996 and together they owned and operated McCune Animal Hospital in Eagle Rock, Missouri for over 20 years.His many skill sets included art, photography, writing, and scuba diving. He played 3 instruments, made furniture, renovated 2 homes, wrote computer software, and held a lifelong and enduring love of every cat he came across. He was most proud of his Catholic faith and was always happy to share it with others.
He is survived by his wife Kathleen McCune, one son Cailean Babcock and his wife Machiko and 2 grand children, Anzu and Charley of Osaka, Japan, along with his 4 stepsons that he raised as his own: Sean McKenzie & his son Ryan of Fresno, California; Colin McKenzie, his wife Maradyth, and son Connor of Little Rock, Arkansas; Ryan McKenzie, his wife Brittny, and daughter Clementine of Portland, Oregon; Patrick McKenzie of Little Rock, Arkansas.
His parents and only sibling, Maudine, preceded him in death.
Rosary will be held on Saturday, July 31, at 9:30am, at Our Lady Of The Cove Catholic Church in Kimberling City, Missouri.
A funeral mass will follow, at 10:00am, with Father C. Saraiah.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. George Catholic Church in Republic.
Arrangements are under the direction of White Funeral Home & Crematory in Cassville.
