Dana Dale Haubein, aged 82, of Shell Knob, Missouri, passed away on April 18, 2025, at Cox Hospital in Monett, Missouri. Born on October 4, 1942, to Fredric and Margaret Kirk in Springfield, Missouri, Dana graduated from Kirkwood High School in 1960 and pursued her passion for art at Cotty College in Nevada, Missouri. On June 3, 1962, she married Merlyn Haubein in Nevada, Missouri.

Dana dedicated her career to teaching art and helped troubled children in Cabot, Arkansas, before moving to Shell Knob in 2000. She loved creativity and was active in the art club, creating beautiful oil paintings. Dana valued her family, hosting gatherings and cherishing time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed designing wedding cakes. Her life embodied creativity, compassion, and strong family values, leaving a lasting legacy.

Dana's genuine passion for nurturing young minds and her exceptional artistic talents intertwined beautifully throughout her life. Her oil paintings were not just works of art; they were expressions of her soul, capturing moments of beauty and inspiration. Family gatherings at Dana's home were filled with laughter and love, as she cooked delicious meals and shared stories that united everyone. The wedding cakes she crafted were masterpieces, each one reflecting her attention to detail and desire to celebrate life's special moments. Dana's presence enriched the lives of all who knew her, leaving behind memories laced with warmth and affection.

Survivors include her loving husband of 62 years Merlyn Haubein; two sons, Kirk Haubein of Edgerton, Kansas, and JR Haubein and his wife Tara of Austin, Arkansas; one daughter, Amanda Haubein of Galena, Missouri; five grandchildren; one great grandchild; two sisters, Carol Teicher and her husband Gerry of St. Louis, Missouri and Janet Kirk of Shell Knob, Missouri; one daughter in law, Jennifer Haubein of  Shell Knob, Missouri; one sister-in-law Corrine Kirk of Morris, Minnesota; and two nieces.

Dana is preceded in death by one son Dale Haubein, her parents, Fredric and Margaret Kirk, and one brother, Rusty.

Memorials may be made to Shell Knob School Districts Art Department and entrusted to White Funeral Home and Crematory.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
