David Eugene Hassler, age 74, of Cape Fair, Missouri, passed away at home, on Sunday, December 27, 2020. David, son of Joseph and Dorothy (Fremdling) Hassler, was born on June 28, 1946, in Louisville, Kentucky. He was united in marriage to Nancy Williams, on December 23, 1967, in Florissant, Missouri. Mr. Hassler served his country proudly in the United States Navy, serving during the Vietnam War and retired after twenty-four years of service; he was a proud veteran who loved his country. David was a hard worker who enjoyed building and riding on his backhoe. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and spending time on the lake with his family.

Survivors include his wife Nancy Hassler, of Cape Fair; three daughters, Kim Hassler, of Springfield, Tammy Chenvert and her husband Toby, of Pierre Part, Louisiana, and Holly Hassler Coupel and her husband Warren, of Belle Rose, Louisiana; seven grandchildren, Codi Weter and his wife Stacey, of Aurora, Courtney Hassler, of Springfield, Faith Bourg and her husband Kevin, of Pierre Part, Louisiana, Nootsie Cavalier, III and his wife Debbie, and Kaine Coupel, Cadence Coupel, and Hunter Coupel, all of Belle Rose, Louisiana; five great-grandchildren, Cooper Weter, Cash Weter, Ryder Bourg, Kylei Bourg, and Hanlee Coupel; two brothers, Donald Hassler and Jerry Hassler, both of St. Louis; and several nieces and nephews.

David was preceded in death by his parents.

No services are scheduled at this time. A private family burial will be held at a later date.
