Maria Dolores (Lucero) Bryan was born August 27, 1934, to Ramon Lucero and Carlota (Lucero) Lucero in Chaperito, New Mexico.  She was known to her friends and family as "Dee."  She passed away at the age of 86 on August 13, 2021, in Rolla, Missouri.

Dee Bryan graduated from Menaul High School in May 1953.  She earned her nursing diploma from Texas Christian University, Fort Worth, TX, in 1957 and her bachelor's degree in nursing from Wichita State University in 1978.  She retired from the Veterans Hospital in Wichita, Kansas in 1996.

Dee married Jimmy Rex Bryan on September 14, 1960, in Bonaire, Georgia. They were married for 46 years until Jim's death in 2006. They had two children, Cecilia Bryan and John Bryan. Jim and Dee lived in Wichita most of their married life, moving to Shell Knob, Missouri in 1998. In 2014, Dee moved to Presbyterian Manor in Rolla, MO.

Dee was proceeded in death by her parents, 9 stepsiblings, her sister Agueda Forsberg, and her husband, Jim Bryan.   She is survived by her sisters Beatriz (Walter) Crites, of Prescott Valley, AZ, and Lucinda (Fred) Garcia, of South Carolina; her children Cecilia (James) Bryan, of Wichita, KS, and John (Becky) Bryan, of Rolla, MO; her grandchildren Elizabeth Bryan, of Lansing, MI, and Wilson Bryan, of Battlefield, MO; long-time friends Richard and Nancy Wilson, of Shawnee, KS; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and Christian brothers and sisters.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 8, 2022, at Grace Community Fellowship in Shell Knob, Missouri, with Pastor Joe Evans officiating.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of White Funeral Home & Crematory in Cassville.
