Eugene "Gene" William Delaney, age 80, of Cassville, Missouri, passed away at his home on Monday, June 20, 2022. Son of William and Helen (Feher) Delaney, Gene was born on April 21, 1942, in The Bronx, New York. On July 22, 1961, Gene married the love of his life, Lillian Marie (Steele) Delaney; she survives.

A truck driver by trade, Gene retired from a long career with Tyson Foods. Gene enjoyed watching television, visiting nursing home residents and spending time with people. He loved to tell jokes and make others laugh. Gene was a member of the Exeter Assembly Of God Church. Gene was a dear soul and a joy to be around, he will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his wife, Lillian Delaney, of Cassville, Gene is survived by three sons, Steven Delaney, of Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina, Paul Delaney, and his wife Tami, of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, and Brian Delaney, of Dallas, Texas; two grandsons, Steven and Scott; one great-granddaughter; and two brothers, Robert Delaney, of Connecticut, and Richard Delaney, of New York.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents, William and Helen (Feher) Delaney.

A memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m. at the First Assembly Of God Church, Cassville, on Friday, June 24, 2022, with Pastor James Alverson officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 5:00 p.m. until service time.
