Fred Prisk, aged 58, of Aurora, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at Cox South in Springfield, Missouri, surrounded by the love and comfort of his adoring family. Born June 23, 1966, in Azusa, California, to Gerald and Shirley (Morrison) Prisk, Fred was a beacon of warmth and kindness throughout his life. On November 7, 2000, he married the love of his life, Shawndi Short, in a heartfelt ceremony at Leann Church in Leann, Missouri—a bond that brought endless joy and unwavering strength to their lives.

Fred found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life, including fishing, hunting, boating, and bow hunting, which fostered his deep connection to the outdoors. His happiest moments were spent with his cherished grandchildren, whose laughter and companionship brought boundless joy to his days. Sterling, his little buddy, held a special place in his heart, as did Scarlett, who shared in his adventures. As a valued member of the Aurora Bass Hounds and an enthusiastic participant in the Shell Knob Friday night bass tournament at Campbell Point Marina, Fred left an indelible mark on his community through his love for nature and the friendships he nurtured along the way.

Fred's life was a testament to the power of humility and generosity, as he carried an unwavering ability to make others feel valued and seen. His gentle laugh and warm spirit were a comfort to those around him, a reflection of his deep love for life and the people he held dear. Whether offering guidance on a fishing trip or lending a helping hand to a neighbor, Fred's actions were driven by an innate kindness that touched countless lives. His legacy is one of compassion, integrity, and joy—a reminder that the simplest gestures often have the greatest impact.

In addition to his beloved wife, Shawndi, Fred is survived by two sons, Scott Prisk of Willard, Missouri, and Kade Brown of Aurora, Missouri; one daughter, Kaleigh Simmons, and her husband T.J. of Cassville, Missouri; two cherished grandchildren, Sterling and Scarlett Simmons; one brother, Robert Prisk, and his wife Denise of Jenkins, Missouri; three sisters, Gayle Hudson and her husband Joe of Jenkins, Missouri, Jeri (Dody) Myers and her husband Randy of Exeter, Missouri, and Susan Hanneken and her husband Jeff of Waimea, Hawaii.
