Obituary

Fredalene Horner, age 87, of Cassville, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, May 27, 2021, at Cox Hospital in Branson, Missouri.  Mrs. Horner, daughter of William Elmer and Frances Elizabeth (Ball) Cooper, was born on December 23, 1933, in Shell Knob, Missouri.  Graduating from Cassville high School in 1951, Fredalene was a lifelong resident of Barry County.  On September 15, 1954, she was united in marriage to Wayne Horner in Cassville; he preceded her in death on August 11, 2007.

Fredalene was a loving mother who always put her children first and was very involved with everything they did. She volunteered any time the chance was given to be involved in the community; some of her interests were helping with 4-H, teaching sewing classes, being a Sunday school teacher, and helping at the Barry County Museum. Some of her favorite pastimes were collecting antique furniture and art, and restoring oil paintings. Fredalene also enjoyed researching genealogy information, compiling "A Horner Legacy," a family history book, as well as books for five other families. She was interviewed by the staff of Barry County Museum and was featured in Volume 7 of the "Lifetimes of Memories, Voices of Barry County" series published by the museum. She was baptized as a young child in November of 1945 at the old Eagle Rock Dam; she was a member of the First Baptist Church in Cassville.

Survivors include three daughters, Teresa Telehany and her husband John, of Painted Post, New York, Sheree Brock and her husband Russell, of Branson, and Kelly Barnes and her husband Kent, of Cassville; her daughter-in-law, Joni Womack, of Bentonville, Arkansas; eight grandchildren, Matt Brock, Shian Brock, David Barnes, Garrett Barnes, Shelby Horner, and Hannah Horner; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Charles Cooper and his wife Freda, of Cassville; three sisters, Lucille Holman, of Raytown, Norma Swindell and her husband Warren, of McKinney, Texas, and Faedola Hilton and her husband Carl, of Republic; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Fredalene was preceded in death by her son, Rex Horner; her granddaughter, Tori Beth Brock; two sisters, Edna Edie Moore and her first husband Don, and Dorothy Curry Peterson and her first Husband Paul; and three brothers-in-law, Don Peterson, Bill Moore and Billy Holman.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 1, 2021, at the White Funeral Home and Crematory, Cassville, with words of comfort spoken by the family; burial to follow at the Horner Cemetery in Cassville.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.

The family suggests that social distancing be practiced.
