Obituary

Gumercinda Urbina, age 78, of Bloomingdale, Illinois, formerly of Rocky Comfort, Missouri, died peacefully at her home at 7:15 pm Wednesday, May 25th, 2022, surrounded by all her family.

Mrs. Urbina, daughter of Cayetana and Zeferino Herrera Aguilera, preceded in death, was born on January 1, 1944, in Durango, Mexico.  On February 23, 1964, she married the love of her life Cleofas Urbina Rodriguez in Mexico.  Mrs. Urbina moved to Chicago, Illinois, in 1982, to reunite with her parents and worked there for over ten years.  In 1998, she and her husband moved to Rocky Comfort, Missouri where countless memories were made with family, friends and grandkids at the ranch riding horses, grilling, sitting around the campfire and just having a good time. Family meant everything to her, "It was an honor to have been the daughters and sons of such loving mother, we thank you Mom for giving us such a wonderful and loving family.  You will be greatly missed.

They also owned and operated Cleo's Restaurant, making many lasting memories and friendships throughout the years.  In 2006, they closed the restaurant due to the passing of her husband, and Gumercinda moved to Chicago, Illinois to be with the rest of her family, where she traveled and enjoyed her retirement years.  She was a loving mother who always put the needs of her family before her own and will be missed by all that knew and loved her.

She is survived by two sons, Cleofas Urbina, Jr. of Chicago, Illinois, and Edgar Urbina and his wife, Shannon, of Carpentersville, Illinois; nine daughters, Oralia Casas, widow, of Wheaton, Missouri, Juanita Nunez, and her husband, Alvaro, of Purdy, Missouri, Norma Madera, and her husband, Gerardo, of Arlington Heights, Illinois, Rosalia Ramirez, and her husband, Carlos, of Fort Worth, Texas, Dora Marquez, and her husband, Gonzalo, of Melrose Park, Illinois, Elisa Urbina and her husband Norbert of Bloomingdale, Illinois, Silvia Urbina and her husband, Eddie Ruiz, of Melrose Park, Illinois, Ruperta Urbina and husband, Jamie Nevarez, of Carol Stream, Illinois, and Yesenia Govea, and her husband, Jesus, of Chicago, Illinois; twenty-seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and one brother, Jesus Herrera.

Funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at St. Edwards Catholic Church in Cassville, Missouri, with The Reverend William Hodgson officiating; burial to follow at Purdy City Cemetery in Purdy. Missouri.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the White Funeral Home and Crematory, Cassville, Missouri.
