Harold James Skelton, age 73, of, Seligman, Missouri, passed away at his home on Monday, October 12, 2020. Mr. Skelton, son of Jim and Florence (Bargay) Skelton, was born on March 29, 1947, in Eagle Rock, and at an early age he gave his life to the Lord. On July 11, 1969, he was united in marriage to Mary Cotton. Harold helped with the development of the road system at Lost Bridge Village, and worked at Roaring River State Park for twenty-five years until his retirement. He was greatly respected by all and had a huge impact on so many lives; he will be greatly missed.
Survivors include his wife of fifty-one years, Mary Skelton, of Seligman; one son, Harold Duane, of the home; one daughter, Rebecca Petit and her husband Rick, of Anakey, Iowa; two brothers, Johnny Skelton, of Seligman, and Steve Skelton and his wife Tina, of Port Arthur, Texas; two sisters, Jeanne Thomas and her husband John, of Bentonville, Arkansas, and Nancy Chestnut, of Rogers, Arkansas; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by three brothers, Sidney Skelton, Darrel Skelton and Larry Skelton; and three sisters, Mary Jane Douglas, Kay Gautney, and Debbie Skelton.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 16, 2020, at Mineral Springs Cemetery, in Cassville, with Pastor Jeremy Privett officiating.
Due to Harold and his family having and being exposed to the Covid virus the family request that face mask be worn at the service and social distancing practiced.
Memorial contributions may be to the Ayden Cotton 24 Forever Scholarship Fund and entrusted to the White Funeral Home and Crematory, P.O. Box 890, Cassville, MO 65625.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the White Funeral Home and Crematory, Cassville, Missouri.
