Obituary

James "Jim" Edward Charlson, age 72, Eagle Rock, Missouri, passed away at his home on Friday, January 31, 2020.  Jim Charlson, son of Bert and Dorothy (Evans) Charlson, was born on August 29, 1947, in Rifle, Colorado.  Following his graduation from high school, he enlisted in the United States Army, where he served in the Honor Guard in Washington D.C.  On June 9, 1968, he was united in marriage to Delores "Lorri" Gunn in Boulder, Colorado.  In1977 Jim graduated from the Colorado State Patrol Academy. He then moved with his family to Kremmling, Colorado in pursuit of his career with the Patrol. He was passionate about serving and protecting his community, and did it well. As his daughters grew, he enjoyed spending time with and providing guidance for them as well as their peers. Jim taught hunter safety, coached little league baseball, and attended as many sporting events of his girls as he could.

Jim enjoyed rebuilding and restoring classic cars, From the Model "T" to Mustangs. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, telling stories, and making people laugh. He had a wonderful sense of humor and thoroughly loved making people smile. He enjoyed a good laugh and pulling a quick one over anyone who would fall for his shenanigans. Some of his favorite past times include jewelry making, tying flies, fishing, gun-smithing, hunting, traveling, and riding around the neighborhood in the mule with his sweet dog Belle.

Survivors include his wife of fifty-one years, Lorri Charlson, of Eagle Rock; two daughters, Katy Charlson and her partner Stefanie, of San Diego, California, and Laura Charlson and her partner Christine, of Ashland, Missouri; and four grandchildren, Marissa, Jarod, Jacob, and Ethan.

No services are planned at this time.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of the White Funeral Home and Crematory, Cassville, Missouri.
