Obituary

James A. Zahradka, age 75, of Purdy, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2020, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. Mr. Zahradka, son of William J. and Hannah (Courtney) Zahradka, was born on March 8, 1945, in Lawton, North Dakota. On June 15 , 1968, he was united in marriage to Rebecca Mae Schnabel in Napoleon, North Dakota. Jim was a lifetime farmer starting at age of sixteen when he rented his first piece of ground. He also raised Silver and Artic fox. He moved to Missouri in 1980. He enjoyed annual fishing trips to Canada, was an outstanding gardener and loved spending time with family and friends. Jim was a founding and lifetime member of the Rainbow Hunting Lodge in Whitman, North Dakota, and was also a member of the Barry County Watershed Board. He attended the Assembly of God Church in Purdy.

Survivors include his wife Becky Zahradka, of Purdy; one son, Jason Zahradka and his wife Maricel, of Purdy, two daughters, Jessica Zahradka and her husband Tom, of Chesapeake, VA, and Tamra Brawley and her husband Doug, of Suffolk, VA; six grandchildren, Lauren, Cassandra, Vivian, Valaryan, Temperance, and Xanhannah; one brother, Joseph Zahradka and his wife Roberta, of Grand Forks, ND; one sister, Margaret Jallo and her husband Albert, of Devils Lake, ND; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his brother William L. Zahradka and his sister, Colleen Becker.

Memorial services will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, July 27, 2020, at the White Funeral Home and Crematory, Cassville, with Pastor Bob Shipp officiating.  At the family's request face masks are encouraged to be worn.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Franklin Graham Samaritan's Purse and entrusted to the White Funeral Home and Crematory, P.O. Box 890, Cassville, MO 65625.

Service arrangements and cremation are under the direction of the White Funeral Home and Crematory, Cassville, Missouri.
