Janice Whittemire, 87, of Monett, Missouri, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, surrounded by her family. Born on September 13, 1937, in Mansfield, Ohio, she was the daughter of John and Dorothy (Rock) Calhoun. Janice married Robert Whittemire on November 28, 1953, in Liberty, Indiana. A graduate of Baptist Bible College in Springfield, she worked for over 20 years in the Monett school district cafeteria. Janice cherished her family, especially her grandchildren, and found great joy in celebrating holidays with them.

Survivors include two sons, Robert David Whittemire and his wife Ramona, of Republic, and Mark Whittemire and his wife Chris, of Monett; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; one great great grandchild; one brother, John Calhoun of Mansfield, Ohio; two sisters, Janet Haburn of Brookville, Ohio, and Kathy Eldridge of Mansfield, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her loving husband of 70 years Robert Whittemire she was preceded in death by her parents, one grandson Brian; and one sister Janie.

There will be a private Celebration of Life in Mansfield, Ohio, at a later date.

Arrangements are under the direction of the White Funeral Home and Crematory, Cassville, Missouri.
