Tony James "Jay" Fick, age 52, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, January 9, 2019, at the Mercy Hospital in Aurora, Missouri. Jay was born on born on August 12, 1966, to Tony and Dorothy Fick, in Okinawa, Japan. For the past eight years Jay worked for Prime, Inc. in Springfield. There he started working at the Oasis as the housekeeping staff and later moved to the front desk at the Campus Inn that Prime uses for their truck driving school. Jay was well known and loved by countless drivers and staff members. He influenced thousands of truck drivers in their career at Prime. Jay always had a smile on his face and lived life to the fullest; he WILL be missed by many.
Jay is survived by his mother, Dotti Fick and her beloved Larry Owensby, of Avoca, Arkansas; three daughters, Erica Laseter and her two sons, Elijah and Anders Laseter, of Monticello, Illinois, Alexandria Jung and her husband Joshua, and Megan Fitzgerald and her husband Scott, one son, James Fick, all of Bakersfield, California; his fiancé, Angela Walters and her four daughters, Alivia, Alisabeth, Addyson, and Hailey, all of Aurora, and a host of other family and friends who all grieve his departure.
Jay was preceded in death by his father Tony Fick.
A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 8, 2019, at Oasis Convention Center in the Sahara room with refreshments in Springfield MO.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of the White Funeral Home and Crematory, Cassville, Missouri.
