John William Byron, age 82, of Cassville, Missouri, passed away at Mercy Hospital in Cassville, on Monday, December 14, 2020.  Mr. Byron, son of Kelly and Lenora (Greaser) Byron, was born on November 29, 1938, in Tucumcari, New Mexico.  Subsequently graduating high school he enrolled in New Mexico State University where he graduated with a degree in chemical engineering.  On June 10, 1967, he was united in marriage to Alice Miller in Borger, Texas.  He worked for Phillips Petroleum for many years until his retirement in 1997.  In his free time John enjoyed hunting, his dogs, watching the stock market, mowing his yard, and loved spending time with his family.

Survivors include his loving wife Alice Byron, of Cassville; one daughter, Pamela Peterson and her husband Jay, of Cassville; three grandchildren, Jayson Peterson, Kayleigh Peterson, and Austin Byron; one sister, Judy Assini and her husband Bill, of Tucumcari, New Mexico; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his son, Shawn Byron on December 20, 2013, and one sister, Betty Yarnelle.

No services are scheduled at this time.  A private family burial will be held at Quaker Cemetery in Cassville at a later date.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of the White Funeral Home and Crematory, Cassville, Missouri.
