Obituary

Joseph Gunnels, a cherished resident of Cassville, Missouri, passed away peacefully surrounded by family, on Sunday, June 8, 2025, at the age of 73, in Cassville, Missouri. Born on February 29, 1952, to Bill and Norma (Edie) Gunnels, he married the love of his life Sue Rose on June 28, 1980, in Cassville.

Joseph was passionate about bowling and loved his grandchildren. He was an avid New York Yankees fan. He loved watching westerns and swimming with his grandbabies any chance he got.  He ran Gunnels Trucking for 52 years, delivering milk, and operated projectors at the drive-in theater. A respected member of the First Baptist Church in Cassville, Joseph will be remembered for his kindness and dedication.

Joseph is survived by his wife of 44 years Sue Gunnels; two daughters, Jo Lynn Robinson and her husband Josh of Springfield, Missouri, and Rebecca Trammell and her husband Dakota of Nixa, Missouri; six grandchildren, Bentley, Zoe, Jordyn, Isabella, Julianne, and Jaxon; mother in-law, Shirley Rose; two brother in-laws, Steve Cline and Bill Rose and his wife Sue; two sister in laws Bobbi Vanzandt and her husband Raymond, and Patty Rose; and many aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, one sister Linda Cline, and his brother-in-law Steven Rose.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at White Funeral Home and Crematory with Pastor James Weaver officiating, burial to follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the start of the service.

Memorials may be made to Oak Hill Cemetery and entrusted to White Funeral Home and Crematory.

Arrangements are under the direction of White Funeral Home and Crematory in Cassville, Missouri.
