Obituary

On November 17, 2020 Laquita Goude of Golden, Missouri went home to her Eternal Father, met at the entrance by her Lord and Savior Jesus. She departed this life at the age of 71 due to complications of heart surgery three weeks prior. Quita, daughter of Herman and Lena Stilwell, was born on July 30, 1949 in Mead, Oklahoma. She spent her early years in the Durant area, graduating from school there. Then residing in Lake Charles, Louisiana before moving to Houston, Texas where she met Kent Goude, united to him in marriage on July 12, 1986.

Laquita worked in secretarial capacity for various companies and temp agencies until the time she started Sonshine Secretarial Services while she and Kent resided in Fallbrook, California. After moving to Bastrop, Texas she continued her own business until deciding to return to school to become a Registered Nurse. She retired from nursing upon moving to Golden in 2008. She was active in the community and in church, participating in various bible studies, regularly playing Bridge and enjoying crafting. She loved and was dearly loved.

Survivors include her husband, Kent Goude, of Golden; her daughter, Dawn Eva Lanclos and husband Kelly Gene, of Pearland, Texas; a grandson, Kelly Michael Lanclos  of Pearland; three sisters, Retha Bailey, Sue Robinson and Pat Stilwell, all of Durant, Oklahoma; a brother, Roy Stilwell and wife Jackie. of Luther, Oklahoma; her mother-in-law, Jan Goude and brother-in-law, Gary Goude of Golden; and her longtime best friend, Gloria Herbert of Lufkin, Texas along with numerous nephews and nieces.

In addition to her parents, Quita was preceded in death by four brothers: Jimmy Stilwell, Chuck Stilwell, Bob Stilwell and Gene Stilwell.

A memorial service in celebration of her life will take place on December 5, 2020 at 2pm at Cornerstone Faith Church (formerly Golden Church of God) located on Hwy 86 in Golden. Crematory arrangements are under the direction of White Funeral Home and Crematory, Cassville, Missouri.
