Obituary

Larry Riddle, age 78, of Wheaton, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, October 3, 2018.  Mr. Riddle, son of Charles and Audra (Moore) Riddle, was born on June 3, 1940, in Cassville, Missouri.  He was a 1958 Cassville High School graduate. After receiving his undergraduate degree at Southwest Missouri State University in Springfield, he earned his graduate degree in Physical Therapy from Kansas University. On June 2, 1962, he was united in marriage to Beverly Brattin at the First Baptist Church in Cassville. Mr. Riddle spent thirty-six years as the director of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation with St. John's Hospital at the Brady Building in Joplin. He was also co-owner of Riddle's Cameo Boutique in Joplin with his wife, Beverly.

Larry was a strong Christian man who was devoted to reading his Bible and studying scripture; he was a past member of the First Baptist Church in Cassville. He was a very humble, solid man who loved his family dearly. Mr. Riddle had a love for his country and was very proud of it. He enjoyed helping others and volunteered his time delivering Meals on Wheels in Cassville, and serving as a past president of the Susan B. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, Joplin Chapter.

Larry was a creative man and a talented photographer. He loved working in the gardens of his farm with Beverly. He had a powerful singing voice and played the harmonica beautifully. He was a St. Louis Cardinals fan and enjoyed traveling with Beverly to Hawaii and many other amazing places.  He was a dear friend to all who had the privilege of knowing him and he will be greatly missed.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Beverly Riddle, of Wheaton; two sons, Douglas V. Riddle and his wife Teresa, of Bella Vista, Arkansas, and Gregory D. Riddle, of Joplin; one daughter, Jessica L. King and her husband Dr. Kevin P. King, of St. Louis; eight grandchildren, Kelsey Riddle and her husband, Hariram Vasudevan of Austin, Texas, Morgan Riddle, of Austin, Texas; Madison Riddle, Olivia Riddle, Lauren Riddle of Joplin; Lucas King, Anna King, and Eli King of St. Louis; sisters in-law, Evelyn Riddle, of Republic, and Virginia Riddle, of Ozark; two brothers in-law, Don Brattin and his wife Geraldine, of Branson, and Charley Brattin and his wife Carolyn, of Cassville; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two brothers, Verdayne Riddle and Leon Riddle.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2018, at Muncie Chapel Cemetery in Wheaton, with words of comfort spoken by Jim Riddle.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 6 th , at the White Funeral Home and Crematory in Cassville, with burial to follow.
