Leo Burl Ash, age 91, of Seligman, Missouri, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, September 2, 2021. He was a devoted Christian and knew that there was life after death. Leo, son of Pete and Ada (Gaylan) Ash, was born on June 23, 1930, in Rogers, Arkansas. He was a lifelong resident of Seligman, graduating from Seligman High School and subsequently, enlisted in the United States Army serving his country proudly from 1948-1952 and during the Koren Conflict. He was united in marriage to Bertha Louise Westbrook and to this union two sons were born; she preceded him in death on July 25, 1997.

During his younger years Leo worked in the construction field and later went on to work for MO-DOT and retired at the age of 63. He wasn't one to just sit around so he went on to work for county for the next twenty-two years. Leo was a kind, loving, and gentle man who would give the shirt off his back to help others, but wasn't afraid to speak his mind when needed. He lived his life to the fullest, always having fun and could be ornery from time to time. Some of his favorite pastimes were farming, raising cattle and cutting hay. Leo made many friends throughout his life, leaving a lasting impression on so many and will be forever missed.

Survivors include one son, Johnny Ash and his wife Bonnie, of Seligman; one daughter, Carolyn Tideman and her husband John, of Washburn; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren including Candice Ash, who was his first granddaughter and had a special bond with; several nieces and nephews; and his lifelong friend and neighbor, Bill Forgey, of Gateway, Arkansas.

In addition to his parents and wife, Leo was preceded in death one son, Little Leo; two sisters, Helen Schooly, and his twin sister, Cleo Ash; and two brothers, Robert Ash, and Earl Ash.

The family would like to thank to the Phoenix Hospice group and also to Patrice Babcock, Jane Ann Douglas, Shelby Martin, Carolyn Tideman, for taking such great care of Leo and always being there; also a very special thank you to Vicki Johnson, a special friend to the family and neighbor.

Graveside services with military honors will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the Ruddick Cemetery, in Garfield, Arkansas, with Chaplin James Thomas officiating.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 7 ^th at the White Funeral Home & Crematory, Cassville, Missouri.
