Lona Opal (Harvey) Carney, age 91, from Purdy, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at Cox Monett hospital in Monett, Missouri. Born to D.M. and Rosa (Chance) Harvey in Winslow, Arkansas. Lona was united in marriage to Dale A. Carney on October 2, 1959, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He passed away on March 24, 1994.

Survivors include four sons, Larry Sims and his wife Pam , Marvin  Carney and his wife Janet, Richard Carney and his wife Sandy, and Farron Carney and his wife Theresa; five grandchildren, Robin, Mike, James, Shasta, and Montana; ten great-grandchildren, Colton, Preston, Autumn, Porter, Cole, Foster, Finn, Wilder, Fletcher, and Fisher; one sister, Norma (Harvey) Holland; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Lona is preceded in death by her husband of thirty-four years, Dale A. Carney; her parents D.M. and Rosa Harvey; four brothers, Rueben, Burl, Ralph, and Kenneth Harvey; three sisters, Florella (Harvey) Yerton, Maggie (Harvey) Yerton, and Esther (Harvey) Sims.

A private service and interment will be held at Mars Hill Cemetery in Crane, Missouri.

Arrangements are under the direction of White Funeral Home and Crematory in Cassville, Missouri.
