Lorri Denise
Welch
May 25, 1962 — May 12, 2021
Lorri Denise Welch, 58, of Shell Knob, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 12, 2021, surrounded by family. Lorri, daughter of the late Loren and Mary (Horn) Watts, was born on May 25, 1962, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She is survived by her husband, Mark Welch, of Shell Knob; daughter, Tosha Welch and her significant other, Cody McNally, of Shell Knob; son, Dillon Welch and his wife Emma, of Shell Knob; and five loving grandchildren, Raigan (13), Rilee (12), Ryan (9), Rowan (18 months), and Brexley (4 months). She is also survived by her three sisters, Julie Simmons and husband Ron, of Crescent, Oklahoma; Karen Watson, of Crescent, Oklahoma; and Sharon Brown and husband Rex, of Lyons, Kansas; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents, Lorri was preceded in death by her beloved son, Jarred Welch; sister, Yvonna Simpson; and nephew, Willie Welch.
Lorri graduated from Crescent High School (Crescent, Oklahoma) in 1980. She married the love of her life, Mark Welch, in Crescent, Oklahoma on May 30, 1980. Lorri and Mark moved to Shell Knob, Missouri in May of 2003, where they continued to expand their family and business on beautiful Table Rock Lake. Lorri was a devoted wife, mother, Mimi to her grandbabies, sister, and friend. She was talented and gracious in everything she did. She wore many hats – a dedicated gardener, chef, office manager, business partner, baker and of course her biggest job of all- putting up with Popeye! She always lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures. Her favorite time was spent with her family; boating, traveling with her husband, especially visiting national parks; baking with her grandkids; listening to music (especially singing and dancing with her sisters) and spending time outdoors with her plants, birds, and breathtaking views. Lorri had an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep and positive way, always wearing a smile on her face and reminding people to "let it go" and rejoice in the simple pleasures of life. Lorri was a friend to so many and will be greatly missed. To know her was to love her.
Family, friends, and others whose lives Lorri touched are invited to the memorial service that will be held at First Baptist Church in Crescent, Oklahoma, on Thursday, May 20, 2021, at 11 am.
Local arrangements will be held on Sunday, May 16, 2021, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Shell Knob Community Center.
