Obituary

Opal Corn, age 81, of Seligman, Missouri, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, October 16, 2018. Mrs. Corn, daughter of Levi and Neomia (Taylor) Tate, was born on January 24, 1937, in the Mineral Springs community. Upon graduating high school, she received a degree in nursing. On June 27, 1998, she united in marriage to L.B. "Pound" Corn in Seligman; he preceded her in death on July 5, 2015. Mrs. Corn had a big heart and was always very generous to others. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren and was a dear friend to all who knew her. Mrs. Corn was a member of the New Salem Baptist Church in Seligman.

Survivors include one son, Roy Webb, of Seligman; two daughters, Barbara Bell and her husband Paul, of Garfield, Arkansas, and Joyce Brown and her significant other, Art, of Fayetteville, Arkansas; three step-sons, Terry Corn and his wife Shirley, Bobby Corn and his wife JoNell, and Tim Corn and wife Cherie, all of Seligman; ten grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sharon Jones and her husband Dennis, of Gateway, Arkansas, and Virginia Cooper and her husband Floyd, of Pineville; one brother, Charles Tate and his wife Sharon, of Seligman; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her infant brother, Austin Levi Tate, and step-son, Dewayne Corn.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 20, 2018, at the Seligman City Cemetery with Pastor Perry Morgan officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 19 th at the White Funeral Home and Crematory in Cassville.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Shop with the Cop Program in Seligman and entrusted to the White Funeral Home and Crematory, P.O. Box 890, Cassville, MO 65625.
