Patricia "Pat" Alice McCarthy, age 83, born August 24, 1937, at Ft. Jennings, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, November 19, 2020 at Cox South in Springfield, MO. On July 30, 1960, she was united in marriage Jim McCarthy.

Survivors include Jim McCarthy, Shell Knob, MO., her husband of sixty years; son, Dan, Kimberling City, MO.; daughter, Rosie, Olathe, KS.; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Pat had a degree in chemistry and spent 40 years as a Medical Technologist and Lab Supervisor.  She was the author of "Snakes on the Porch" (memoir), published June 2020, which ended "One day, when I have encountered my last snake on the porch, and I meet my Creator Face-to Face, I will give thanks to Him for standing before me in the trees all these years.  Perhaps I'll be able to raise both arms in praise of my God."

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of the White Funeral Home and Crematory, Cassville, Missouri.
