Obituary

Richard Larry Privett, age 73, of Shell Knob, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2018, at Mercy Hospital in Cassville. Mr. Privett, son of Willard and Lydia (McQuire) Privett, was born on July 1, 1944, in Logan, West Virginia. He graduated from West Point High School in Nebraska and subsequently married Susanne Nelson in 1963; she preceded him in death in 1986. Mr. Privett moved to Cassville in 1974 where he married Janice Snider on August 28, 1987. He worked at Fasco for several years until his retirement in 1997. Mr. Privett enjoyed fishing, having bar-b-ques, buying and selling vehicles, and watching the Nebraska Huskers; he loved his family dearly.

Survivors include his wife Janice Privett, of Shell Knob; six sons, Richard Privett and his wife Janet, Greg Privett and his wife Sharon, all of Monett, Jeremy Privett and his wife Becky, of Seligman, Jason Privett and his wife Kendal, of Neosho, Matthew Privett, of Monett, and David Fink and his wife Buffy, of Shell Knob; three daughters, Jodi Curry and her husband James, of Monett, Sara Fink and her husband Joe, of Cassville, and Cathy Hensley and her husband Danny, of Monett; twenty-one grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren; three brothers, Phillip Privett, of Lincoln, Nebraska, Oliver Privett and his wife Linda, of Norfolk, Nebraska, and Dana Privett and his wife Debbie, of Fremont, Nebraska; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Ralph Privett, James Privett and Dallas Privett; his granddaughter, Madyson Privett; and his sister-in-law, Linda Privett.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Central Crossing Fire Protection District in Shell Knob, and entrusted to the White Funeral Home and Crematory, P.O. Box 890, Cassville, MO 65625.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 2, 2018, at the White Funeral Home and Crematory, Cassville, with Pastor Lonnie Stockton officiating.

Service arrangements and cremation are under the direction of the White Funeral Home and Crematory, Cassville, Missouri.
