Robert VanWye Jr., age 74, of Eagle Rock, Missouri, passed away at Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville, Arkansas, on July 29, 2023. Robert, son of Robert VanWye Sr. and Martha (Werner) VanWye, was born on October 2, 1948, in Cherokee, Oklahoma. He was a 1967 graduate of North Wichita High School. He was united in marriage on May 17, 1968, to Zeta Baker, she survives. Robert worked as a heavy equipment operator for the University of Colorado in Boulder, Colorado, before moving to the lake in Eagle Rock in 1989.

Nature was Robert's passion, he loved the outdoors, music, fishing, and hunting.

In addition to his wife Robert was survived by four God-daughters; Abigail Coleman, of Lacey, Washington, Denise Emert, of Springfield, Missouri, Traci Peterson, of Mansfield, Texas and Lea Ayn Barr of Mobile, Alabama; one brother, Dick VanWye and his wife Marge, of Burrton, Kansas; and one sister, Beverely Hughes and her husband Jim, of Artesian, Arizona, and multiple generations of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Sue VanWye.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the White Funeral Home & Crematory in Cassville, Missouri.
