Robert Whittemire, age 92, of Monett, Missouri, passed away on Monday, November 20, 2023, at Aurora Nursing Center in Aurora, Missouri. Mr. Whittemire, son of Williard and Elizabeth (Cober) Whittemire, was born on March 10, 1931, in Mansfield, Ohio, and was united in marriage to Janice Calhoun in Liberty, Indiana, on November 28, 1953; she survives. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served during the Korean Conflict; he received an honorable discharge in October of 1952. Subsequently he attended and graduated from the Baptist Bible College in Springfield. He was called to pastor at the Baptist Church in Wentworth and was there for more than 20 years. He also was a salesman at V.B. Hall in Monett for 30 years. He was currently a member of the New Site Baptist Church in Monett. Any free time he had, you could find him fishing; that's what he enjoyed the most.

Additional survivors include two sons, Robert David Whittemire and his wife Ramona, of Republic, and Mark Whittemire and his wife Chris, of Cassville; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

There will be a private Celebration of Life in Mansfield, Ohio, at a later date.
