Obituary

Roberta Ann "Bobbi" (Young) Cossey, age 76, of Purdy, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, December 9, 2020, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri, after a short illness. Bobbi, daughter of Leslie Harrold and Mabel Irene (McDonald) Young, was born on July 6, 1944, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. On February 14, 1981, she was united in marriage to Doyle A. Cossey in New Buffalo, Michigan; he preceded her in death on August 23, 2009. She attended the Church of the Nazarene in Monett, where she taught children's Sunday school for many years. Bobbi was an avid student and researcher of the Bible and participated in numerous Bible studies over the years, sometimes attending two studies a week. She was a passionate book lover, reader, and enjoyed all types of literature. Bobbi was active in the community including volunteering to read to children at the public library. She absolutely loved animals having several dogs and cats over the years and spent time training a horse for a friend. Bobbi was a talented artist and enjoyed painting, ceramics, and pencil drawing. She was gifted in many ways and she loved to share her passions with others, including her friendship. Bobbi will be greatly missed by those who got to know her well.

Bobbi had a deep faith in God, and she was continually seeking to know her Savior more. " We continually remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ. " (1Thessalonians 1:3)

Bobbi is survived by her closest friend and faithful companion, Boo, a Corgi-Poodle mix; three special friends, Becky Zahradka, of Purdy, and Tim Douglas and his wife Annette, of Pierce City; her nieces and nephews, Nancy (Steve) Ringen and their daughter Brianna, of Butterfield, Minnesota, Melissa (Jack) Standish, of Hermiston, Oregon, Jason (Lisa) Young and their children Ally, Jamie, and Daniel, Justin Young, of Dallas, Texas, Lloyd Moore, Jr., of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Robert Moore, of Buffalo, Minnesota, Earl (Sue) Moore, of Howard Lake, Minnesota, Linda (Terry) White, of Auburn, Washington, Dawn (Rod) Friese, of Spokane, Washington; and Doyle's family, Nona (Clarence) Merrell, of Lacota, Michigan; Patsy (Randal) Isom, of Atkins, Arkansas, Betty (Marty) Hambright, also of Atkins, Arkansas, Doris (Larry) Chase, of Paw Paw, Michigan, Arnold Cossey, of Fennville, Michigan, Billy (Glenda) Cossey, of Lacota, Michigan, and Alton Cossey, of Gobles, Michigan, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Bobbi was preceded in death by her brother, Leslie A. Young; her sister, Louise Moore; and her four precious dogs, Toby, Tucker, Abby, and Sadie.

" For as in Adam all die, so Christ all will be made alive ." (1Corinthians 15:22 NIV) It doesn't indemnify us against grief...it does however take faith to depths where hope begins to poke through the heartache.
