Rasmussen, Sr.

Rodney John Rasmussen, Sr., age 73, of Washburn, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, December 23, 2020, at Mercy Hospital in Rogers, Arkansas. Mr. Rasmussen, son of Glen and Anna (Elkins) Rasmussen, was born on May 2, 1947, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He served his country proudly in the United States Army serving during the Vietnam War. On April 23, 1994, he was united in marriage to Sylvania Maye Lloyd; she preceded him in death on April 2, 2018. Rodney worked for Fasco Industries in Cassville until his retirement in 2012. In his free time he enjoyed watching football, fishing, and having Nerf gun fights. Rodney loved spending time with family and friends and will be greatly missed.
Survivors include four daughters, Trasa Boudreau and her husband James, of Washburn, Fawnya Wauters and her husband Daniel, of Fort Pierce, Florida, Laressa Spain and her husband Warren, of Washburn, and Tammy Barger and her husband Bucky, also of Washburn; three sons, John Rasmussen and his wife Jennifer, of Plano, Texas, Delbert Rasmussen and his wife Kara, of Fort Pierce, Florida, and Alan Birchfield and his wife Edryss, of Washburn; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; three brothers, Gary Rasmussen and his wife Arla, and Marvin Rasmussen and his wife Geri, all of Langford, South Dakota, and Dennis Rasmussen and his wife Karen, of Morehead, Minnesota; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, Rodney was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, December 26, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. at the Mission Baptist Church in Washburn, with Pastor Dayton Brattin officiating.
A private family burial will be held at a later date.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of the White Funeral Home and Crematory, Cassville, Missouri.
