Roger Frank Townsend, age 69, of Monett, Missouri, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at his home. Son of Walter Townsend and Mary (Parks) Townsend, Roger was born on October 12, 1953 in Hennessey Oklahoma, one of eight children.

Before retiring, Roger owned his own window cleaning business and provided services to several businesses in and around the Monett area.

Roger was a phenomenal pool player. He also loved ping pong and camping with his children when they were younger. Roger enjoyed the outdoors and spent the last couple of years at the cabin in the woods relaxing and watching the wildlife. He also loved searching for arrowheads.

Above all, Roger was a Christian and devoted to studying the Bible and sharing his faith with others. He was an influential participant in a weekly Bible study where he enjoyed fellowship with friends and discussing Bible apologetics. Roger was beloved by many, and he will be greatly missed.

Roger is survived by one son, William Townsend of Oklahoma and three daughters: Angel Townsend of Oklahoma, Lois Atkinson of Arkansas and Christina Atkinson of Missouri. In addition he is survived by two sisters: Carolyn Wilson of Lebanon, Missouri and Marilyn Layton of Monett, Missouri and a host of nieces and nephews.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Towns and Mary (Parks) Townsend and his brothers, Johnny Townsend, Clay Townsend, Robert Townsend, Walter Townsend and Jerry Townsend.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.
