Obituary

Samuel H. Mathis, age 90, of Seligman, Missouri, passed away at Roaring River Health and Rehab in Cassville, on Friday, December 28, 2018. Mr. Mathis, son of Will and Grace (McVey) Mathis, was born on April 8, 1928, in Texarkana, Arkansas. He served his country proudly in the United States Army for four years. On September 15, 1994, he was united in marriage to Betty J. Stamps in Seligman.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Mathis, of Seligman; two daughters, Joanna Eisler and her husband Bill, of Pony, Oklahoma, and LeEtta Lange and her husband James, of Garfield, Arkansas; two grandchildren, Leanna Osborne and James Lange; one great-granddaughter, Ellie Osborne; and several nieces and nephews including Elizabeth Ann Eaton, of Texarkana, Arkansas, and James Robert Gray, of Ingleside, Illinois.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death several brothers and sisters.

Memorial services with full military honors will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 12, 2019, at the White Funeral Home and Crematory, Cassville, with Pastor Dayton Brattin officiating.

A private burial will be held at the Fayetteville National Cemetery.

Service and cremation arrangements are under the direction of the White Funeral Home and Crematory, Cassville, Missouri.
