Stella Pearl Stone, age 87, of Cape Fair, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2023, at Mercy Hospital of Cassville, Missouri. Daughter of Sherman and Hilda (Hall) Neece, Stella was born on July 7, 1935, in Pana, Illinois. On December 31, 1951, in Taylorville, Illinois, she was united in holy matrimony to William Stone; he survives.

Family was everything to Stella. After the early years of working while Bill earned his engineering degree, she was able to spend the majority of her life as a devoted homemaker. Stella enjoyed cooking and entertaining family and friends. She was called by some as the "hostess with the mostest." She also enjoyed sewing, and spent many hours curled up with a good book in her spare time. Stella was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and family member, helping whenever she could. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Stella is survived by two children, Deborah Stone, and William "Joe" Joseph Stone, both of Cape Fair, Missouri; two grandchildren, Catherine Vanden Breul, and her husband Gunther Beerten, and William Vanden Breul; one brother, Donald Neece, of Pana, Illinois; and three sisters, Judy Jones, of Pana, Illinois, Portia Fundis, of Springfield, Illinois, and Carol Coleman , of Earlville, Illinois.

In addition to her parents, Sherman and Hilda (Hall) Neece, Stella was preceded in death by five siblings.
