Vella Jean Hall, age 84, of Washburn, Missouri, passed away Saturday, January 29, 2022, at Roaring River Health and Rehab in Cassville, Missouri. Vella, daughter of Jess and Lillie (Horn) Corn, was born on March 29, 1937, in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. Subsequent to graduating high school, Vella was united in marriage to Howard Olen Hall on March 2, 1956; he preceded her in death on October 6, 1995. Vella was a loving mother and grandmother who had a huge heart and was always willing to help others in need. She loved children of all ages, riding the OATS bus, and attending Washburn First Baptist Church where she always welcomed others with her warm infectious smile. Vella left a lasting impression on so many hearts and will be greatly missed.
Survivors include two sons, Marty Hall and his wife Penny, and Rodney Hall, all of Washburn; six grandchildren, Marty "Sketer" Hall, Dustin Hall, Colt Hall, Rocky Hall, Jesse Shockley, and Amber Burns; ten great-grandchildren; one brother, Johnny Corn and his wife JoAnn, of Seligman; two sisters, Doris Eggleston, of Seligman, and Elsie Hignite and her husband Frank, of Rogers, Arkansas; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Vella was preceded in death by her daughter, Glenda Sue "Susie" Shockley; four brothers, Ellis Corn, Eugene "Spud" Corn, L.B. Corn, and Bill Corn; and two sisters, Dovie Mathis and JoAnn McCool.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 5, 2022, at White Funeral Home in Cassville, Missouri, with Pastor Glenn Erwin and Pastor Jim Erwin officiating; Burial to follow at Seligman City Cemetery, Seligman, Missouri.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 p.m. until service time.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Washburn First Baptist Church and entrusted to the White Funeral Home and Crematory, P.O. Box 890, Cassville, MO 65625.
Service arrangements are under the direction of the White Funeral Home and Crematory, Cassville, Missouri.
