Verta Edna Small passed away peacefully in her home Sunday, October 19, 2025. Verta was born Oct 11, 1940 to Garrett and Edna Hill in Davis County, Iowa. She married Dewey (Bud) Small February 21, 1959. She is survived by two children, Stanley(Susie) Small of Aurora, MO and Cindy Rogers of Warrensburg, MO as well as six grandchildren; Amanda (Bart) Richey, Kathryn Small, Mathew (Sheriden) Small, Chelsey Small, Meghan Rogers, Ashley Rogers and seven great grandchildren; Natalie, Ivory, Finley, Hayden, Eion, Rylee, and Kynzlee.

Verta was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and two brothers, Gerald and Laverne.

Verta was a homemaker on the farm most of the life. Upon her husband's retirement, they moved to Bloomfield, where Verta worked for the city of Bloomfield.

Verta moved to Aurora, MO in 2018 to be nearer her son.

Arrangements are under the direction of White Funeral Home and Crematory.
