Obituary

Virginia Mae "Ginny" Maiwald, age 71, of Shell Knob, Missouri, passed away at her home on Wednesday, September 22, 2021.  Ginny, daughter of Laverne, (Bud), and Marcella Haglund, was born on November 6, 1949, in Lake City, MN.   She was united in marriage to Floyd Maiwald in 1969. On September 20th they were married for 52 years.  In 1999, she and Floyd moved to Missouri to retire.  Ginny was a loving and devoted wife and mother who lived life to the fullest.  Some of her favorite pastimes were playing cards with family and friends, watching the St. Louis Cardinals, enjoying flowers that Floyd grew for her in the garden, making personalized cards, and cooking.  Ginny loved serving her God, Jehovah, and was loved by so many.

Survivors include her loving husband, Floyd Maiwald, of Shell Knob.MO; one son, Scott Maiwald, of Red Wing, Minnesota; three daughters, Melissa Maiwald and her significant other Duke Nordin, of Brainerd, Minnesota, Wendy May and her husband Lee, of Shell Knob, MO and Angie Renae Maiwald, of Mountain Home, Arkansas; eight grandchildren; five sisters, Gloria Holst and her husband Barry, of Goodhue, Minnesota, Stephanie Sexton and her husband Bill, of Millville, Minnesota, Sandra Soine and her significant other Jerry Buck, Marcene Moyer and her husband Richard, and Sherryl Haglund and her significant other Rob Banks, all of Lake City, Minnesota; three brothers, Jon Heins and his wife Lorraine, of Grand Meadow, Minnesota, Tom Haglund and his wife Sandi, of Plainview, Minnesota, and Al Haglund, Jr. and his wife Geri, of Red Wing, Minnesota; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Ginny was preceded in death by her Mother-in-law Esther Maiwald.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2021, at the VFW from 1-5 in Lake City, Minnesota.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of the White Funeral Home and Crematory, Cassville, Missouri.
