Waverly A. Wood, age 81, of Cassville, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at Lacoba Homes in Monett, Missouri.
Waverly was born on October 19, 1944, in Keokuk, Iowa, to Eston and Katheryn (Gardner) Wells. On November 18, 1962, she married the love of her life, Paul Wood, in Kahoka, Missouri. Their marriage was one of devotion, partnership, and deep family love.

Waverly had a true green thumb and found great joy in flowers and gardening. Her yard and home reflected the care she poured into everything she loved. Above all, she was a phenomenal mother and grandmother, always putting her family first and offering steady love, kindness, and support.

She attended the United Methodist Church in Cassville, where her faith and community were important parts of her life.

Waverly will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, and her legacy of love, faith, and nurturing spirit will live on through her family.

Survivors include her husband Paul of 63 years; one son, Darrin Wood of Purdy, Missouri; two daughters, Denise Rairden and her husband Paul of Keokuk, Iowa, and Darla Marion of Charleston, South Carolina; five grandchildren, Olivia Nixon and her husband Zack, Emilee Meierotto and her husband Alex, Tori Dilbeck and her husband Blake, Kylie Wood, and Elizabeth Arnold; eight great grandchildren; and one sister Marion Hufford of Revere, Missouri.

Waverly is preceded in death by her parents, one grandson Issac Rairden, and one son in law John Marion.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be made to St. Judes Children's Research Hospital and entrusted to White Funeral Home and Crematory.
