Floyd "Wayne" Howell passed away peacefully on June 5, 2025, in his home with his family by his side. He was born May 22, 1942, to Floyd and Grace (Droege) Howell in Chambersburg, Missouri. Wayne married Barbara House on November 23, 1972, she survives. Also surviving are four children, Denise (Caco) Estrada of Keokuk, Iowa, Steve (Candi) Howell of Wayland, Iowa, Kevin (Candie) Howell from Palm Coast, Florida, Stacy Howell of Mt Vernon, Missouri; grandchildren Angelo (Maxi) Estrada, Marika (Sara) Estrapala, Cora Jean McAdams, Summer Howell, Bryan, Dalton and Dillion Howell, Derrick (Gabby) White, Sierra (Gage Richardson). Also surviving are six great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, "adopted" children and friends.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Alan and Don Howell a sister-in-law, Letha Howell, and one son in law Chris White.
Wayne was a loving husband, father, and grandpa. He spent his life farming in Clark County Missouri. Wayne proudly served in the U.S. Army with a tour in Vietnam. After retiring in 2007 Wayne and Barbara moved to Southwest Missouri. He gave his life to the lord on June 3, 2001, and was a member of Peaksville Christian Church. Since moving to Miller, Missouri, he attended the Miller Christian Church. Wayne was an avid gun collector and looked forward to deer season each year. He enjoyed going to farm sales and talking about all the different kinds of machinery. Wayne never knew a stranger and would give you anything he had if you were in need. His greatest love was family. Wayne was a farmer, friend, protector, and a hero.
A celebration of life will be held at the Miller Christian Church in Miller, Missouri on the 21st of June at 1 p.m.
Interment of ashes with graveside service will be at Chambersburg Cemetery at 11 a.m. on June 28, with a celebration of life at Peaksville Christian Church.
Memorials may be made to Miller Christian Church or Peaksville Christian Church.
Arrangements are under the direction of White Funeral Home and Crematory.
