Wilbert A. Fenske, age 93, of Purdy, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, July 21, 2022, at Mercy Hospital, Cassville. The son of August Francis and Mary Martha (Radke) Fenske, Wilbert was born on May 29, 1929, in Wentworth, Missouri. In 1950, he joined the United States Army and served his country proudly during the Korean Conflict, while stationed in France and Germany. On August 29, 1953, Wilbert married the love of his life, Virginia Kresyman at the Sts. Peter and Paul Church in Pulaskifield, Missouri.
Wilbert worked several jobs throughout his life, retiring in 1988 after thirty-two years employment with Jumping Jacks in Monett. He was a farmer by trade who truly enjoyed working with his cattle. Wilbert enjoyed taking trips to Branson with his wife Virginia, playing cards, and taking long drives on old country backroads. He was of the Catholic faith, attending St. Mary's Catholic Church in Pierce City, and was baptized on June 2, 1929. Wilbert was a member of the American Legion Hobbs Anderson Post #91.
Wilbert is survived by one son, Michael Fenske and his wife Mary, of Purdy; one brother, Leonard Fenske, of Pierce City; and one sister, Maryann Osterloh, of Monett; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, Wilbert was preceded in death by one brother, William Fenske; his brother-in-law, Lloyd Osterloh; and his sister-in-law, Naomi Fenske.
Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 25, 2022, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Pierce City, Missouri, with The Reverend David Miller, Celebrant. Burial to follow at Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Pulaskifield, Missouri.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the church.
Rosary will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 24, 2022, at the White Funeral Home and Crematory, Cassville, Missouri.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church in Pierce City in memory of Wilbert, and entrusted to the White Funeral Home, P.O. Box 890, Cassville, MO 65625.
Service arrangements are under the direction of White Funeral Home & Crematory, Cassville.
